About 2 weeks ago, I stumbled upon some content by accident regarding how to build your online presence on Linkedin. This was the best thing that ever happened to me! For someone who works in sales and business development, I have done all the right things and putting in all the effort to generate leads, but I was not able to establish solid relationships and conversion! So, I thought I would give it a go because what do I have to loose? My posts got so much reception, it got to the top 1% engagement on Linkedin! This has all happened in the space of 1 month! Yesterday evening, I attended my first Maverrik webcast titled "How to Build a Sales Message" sponsored by OxLEP. The content was practical as was the messaging and examples given. From a content creator perspective and LinkedIn user angle; Maverrik provide grade A webcasts/webinars. They have helped me to understand and use social media including the various messaging required to attract prospects etc. I highly recommend Maverrik to anyone wanting to know how to use social media from a business perspective and not be just a consumer.

This webinar has been such a fresh breath of air for me... I had been to others where they were pitching a sale throughout the webinar with little to none practical and actionable tools for us. And not the mention the avalanche of sales pitches at the end of the webinar (yes im thinking about a particular one here). This one was more about a philosophy, a different approach to marketting yourself by creating relationships with your prospects... Which at the e d WOULD result in better collaborations and results... Im especially happy about this one since i have never been into "selling" my services... I recently attended a Sales Navigator presentation by Dean. As someone from a corporate environment relatively new to selling both myself and services through media such as linkedIn it can be very challenging on how to approach new clients as ultimately everyone hates a connection request and then straight into a sale!! Dean went through some really valuable "Do's and Don'ts" not only sharing his advice and information but doing it all for free! I attended the LinkedIn course yesterday in Liverpool, and it was hands down the most useful, least patronising seminar I've ever been to. It broke everything down into simple steps, without being afraid to dive deep - provided a lot of simple, key insights that should make a big difference to our LinkedIn strategy, and gave me a lot to come and feed back to our sales team. There were a lot of practical tips and tricks, provided in a way that was quickly paced but easy to follow. They also provided a work booklet and other content such as videos to take away for future reference. I would definitely recommend the seminar.
